SNSD's synchronized choreographies?

Pann: Isn't SNSD outstanding for synchronized choreographies?

1. [+215, -78] Honestly, even after 10 years, SNSD is still the only girl group that can pull of synchronized choreographies.

2. [+191, -293] All members lost their rookie mindset. Even the leader dances lazily.

3. [+127, -234] Only Hoot was a synchronized choreography. The rest of them weren't.

4. [+76, -2] <3

5. [+75, -7] There are so many SNSD antis on Pann

6. [+60, -2] They were synchronized-dols since Into the New World

7. [+57, -2] Yikes, how petty of you people. One of the gifs was a promotion from last year. How can you say they lost their rookie mindset?

8. [+54, -4] SNSD is the only girl group that can do synchronized choreographies ㅋㅋ

9. [+52, -4] Is it that hard to admit that they're synchronized? Do you have to mention their rookie mindset? ㅋㅋㅋ They're in their mid-20's and they've been singers for 10 years. They matured just as much and none of them lost their rookie mindset or got a celebrity disease like your bias.

10. [+50, -84] You should watch the Seoul Music Award video from 2014's Gaon Chart(?), it's a mess ㅋㅋ SNSD has good songs but I've never thought of them as good dancers. Only Hyoyeon is good.

Black Pink's debut + similarities to Red Velvet's MV?

Pann: Wow, Black Pink's song is good

1. [+147, -19] I was shocked because Jisoo could sing

2. [+137, -15] I liked everything but barabarabarabam was so funny ㅋㅋㅋㅋ And the intro of Boombayah was so cool. Honestly, they're iKON + 2NE1 rather than Winner.

3. [+120, -10] They looked like Winner in the teasers but they're just like 2NE1! I'm not saying it in a bad way, they're such a girl crush.

4. [+54, -3] I prefer Whistle

5. [+51, -1] Antis said Jisoo can't sing but she can and she has a good vocal color ㅋㅋ Rosé is really good, too. The two rappers are better than most female idol rappers.

6. [+51, -0] They had really long legs. They look better in videos than photos.

Pann: Black Pink's MV and Red Velvet's MV

1. [+154, -7] I'm a Red Velvet fan and the fact that I'm shielding Black Pink is funny. It is similar but I don't think it's plagiarism. The music videos are produced by the same director so they have similar aspects. Those scenes are common in music videos, though. Sitting in a car and sitting on a dining table. There are a lot of similar songs created by the same composers as well.

2. [+134, -12] I'm a Red Velvet stan but they're produced by the same director. The dining table scene is similar but I think it's not plagiarism. Some scenes just happen to be similar. The car scene is common.

3. [+129, -4] I'm a Red Velvet fan and they're similar, but those scenes are commonly used in music videos. They debuted today but they're already getting into controversies with my bias, I feel bitter.

4. [+68, -1] I'm a Red Velvet fan and some fans find it similar, but I definitely don't think it's plagiarism. It's a weird situation where Red Velvet fans are shielding them.

5. [+62, -1] The screencaps make them look similar but when I watched the actual music video, I didn't even find it similar. I'm a Red Velvet stan and I watched their music video more than 10 times.

HyunA Preparing For First Solo Comeback After 4Minute’s Disbandment

HyunA Preparing For First Solo Comeback After 4Minute’s Disbandment
After the initial announcement of 4Minute’s disbandment, there was no doubt in anyone’s mind about what HyunA would do. HyunA would return as a solo artist — and maybe in units too. According to a report by Sports Donga, HyunA, who was the only one to resign with Cube Entertainment, is preparing for a comeback in August. While she has done solo promotions in the past, this will be HyunA’s first solo venture not as 4Minute’s HyunA, but just HyunA.
The report states that HyunA is currently collecting tracks as well as recording songs for her comeback, although she has yet to decide on a concept or title track. If she is able to release her album in August as planned, it will be a year since her mini album “A+,” which was released in August of last year.

Six Things We Loved About Manila’s MTV Music Evolution 2016!

Recap: Six Things We Loved About Manila’s MTV Music Evolution 2016!
June 24 was definitely a night to remember for Manila thanks to the MTV Music Evolution 2016! With a mix of local and foreign artists who graced the event, the show was one for the books. Soompi favorite, APink was there, along with OneRepublic, Bebe Rexha, Far East Movement and local acts – Gary V and his son, Gab, James Reid and Nadine Lustre.
The Soompi team was at the event and it was a wild one! Here are the things we definitely loved about the show!

1. Gary V and Gab’s precise dance moves.

Father and son pair, Gary V and Gab, showed off some fantastic dance skills and they were so on point.  We kid you not. They even danced in the rain which made it even better!

2. James Reid and Nadine Lustre introduced each other as “partners in crime.”

How cute is that? On screen and off screen couple, James Reid and Nadine Lustre (also popularly known in the Philippines together as “Jadine”) made the crowd swoon when they said they were partners in crime. Oh, and James also called Nadine the “love of his life.” More swooning and screaming ensued after.

3.Bebe Rexha sang Eminem’s “Monster.”

Quick story: Bebe Rexha co-wrote Eminem and Rihanna’s “Monster” which was released in 2013. During the show, Bebe Rexha shared that she likes to sing songs that she wrote which is why she sang this track. While the original version is great, we totally loved this version by the original songwriter.

4. OneRepublic had a live cellist playing with them while they performed “Secrets.”

OneRepublic
It’s not every show that you have a cellist play with a live band. A cellist was present on stage during “Secrets” and, honestly, it doesn’t get any cooler than that.  Enough said.

5. Far East Movement’s Prohgress crowd surfed!

Far East Movement
Far East Movement was lit! They had one sick set that riled up the audience with some of their popular hits like “Like a G6” and “Bang It To the Curb!” What made it even better? Member Prohgress did a quick crowd surf in the middle of the show. Definitely something you don’t see at Kpop concerts!

6. APink’s Bomi was spotted picking up fan gifts.

APink
The girls of APink are natural darlings. They were totally cute and charming as they performed some of their popular hits including “NoNoNo,” “Remember,” “LUV” and “Mr.Chu.” Towards the end of their set, fans started throwing gifts at the stage. Bomi stopped to grab some of them to save after the show. How endearing.

There you go! A rundown of what we loved at the MTV Music Evolution 2016. Many thanks to our friends from MTV Asia for inviting us to cover the show and for the mosh pit passes we gave away! The Soompiers who were there had as much fun as we did.
